Getting into the Christmas spirit

Every year, I make atleast one new ornament and/or decoration. this year it was a new decoration for the front door.

I had seen so many different snowman over on Pinterest. So here is my take on it. I used flat pieces of foam and wrapped in yarn. I used fabric for the scarf and felt to make the hat.

C thinks it needs eyes but I like it the way it is. LOL

We have several of their games and we love them. Our new favorite is 100 Wacky Things. It's so much fun. You have to do all kinds of fun stuff according to the cards. And it comes with props.

they have all kinds of cool stuff.... They didn't ask me to post this. But I wanted to tell everyone about them bc I love their stuff.

another couple of games we love are Word Shout - C has a few problems b/c she isnt' a fast speller. But playing it she is getting better. C and her friends love Tastes Like Chicken. And I love it because it's easy to carry with us. We also have one of their Take N' Play anywhere games - Hangman - that we take on car trips.

I didn't realize we had this many Patch Product games. LOL

And if you have a younger child that loves Sid the Science kid they have some kits that are prefect for them. We have checked out two of them - Why are Wheels Round? and How do plants grow?

And this is our second year, taking part in the Million Minute Family Challenge.

I've got a wishlist of their product going. Things like the 5 second rules game. It looks like it would be fun too. And I think C would enjoy Buzzword Jr. And C wants Are you smarter then a 5th grader?

Well, it's been a busy month. can't believe it's almost Dec.
Thought I would share what I've been up too.

I've been testing crochet patterns over at Ravelry. so I thought I would share what I've been crocheting on.

This is called the "boyfriend scarf" - it's so nice and easy.

Lastuna Cowl is next. another quick and easy project.

Fingerless gloves for my daughter.

a chunky winter headband - love it.

I'm loving working on my crochet and trying out all these patterns. Hope I've inspired someone to work on some craft projects.

well, the weather is changing....getting cooler. the trees are changing. it's fall... I like fall b/c of the changing of the trees, but that's about all. I'm not a cold weather person. I have a lot of sinus problems with the colder weather.

Halloween isn't too far away....C is wanting a pumpkin. Told her next weekend. so watch for pictures of that.

I did recently test a crochet pattern over at ravelry. May need it now that the weather is getting cold.

I actually did two of these... I was thinking Christmas gifts. But I may have to keep one. LOL

Speaking of Christmas, I taught my junior girl scouts to loom knit at the last meeting and sent them home with a loom and yarn to make a scarf. Told them they could keep it or give it as a gift. So I guess we will see in a week what they have created. I meant to get pictures, but forgot, I know bad leader. LOL

this past weekend, we went to a event to celebrate Juliette Low's birthday. Only part of the troop went, but I think the girls had a good time for the most part.

Well, it's been a bit. My laptop had to have the hard drive replaced... so was without it for 2 weeks.

but we are back at it now. LOL

Put the fall wreath out this week, not sure how I'll decorate for Halloween. Really don't want to do all the fake spiderweb this year. Would love to have a bale of hay, but that's not going to happen.

How do you decorate for Halloween/fall? I've been looking at some ideas over on pinterest, but haven't decided on anything.

That's what we got off of TS Lee, it's been raining since Sunday. my yard and driveway looks like I need a boat. LOL
We were able to go to First Sunday and Art Sunday before the rain started. Didn't find anything. Sad about that. B/c I normally get my first new Christmas ornament at Art Sunday. But just didn't see anything. I did get online and look around and found a few ideas, I may try to do myself.
Like an Auburn ornament for all of us.

Dangerous Liaisons

After sex with the same person for at least a 1000 times, it's easy to fall into a routine.

So we are suppose to shake it up today. This was hard, because I wasn't feeling good yesterday, and they were calling for rain. But we went for a walk around time, checked out some of the holiday activities going on. It felt good to get out. But the rain showed up too soon, so things got rained out.

But the night exercise, is to also shake things up in the bedroom - maybe use restraits, blindfold, etc.... We tried a blindfold, and it was fun. It made our other senses stand out more. I can see trying other things in the bedroom, now..... Had a fun night. Glad I was feeling alittle better.

Football season

Football season here is..... at one time, I didn't care about watching them. The only sport I really watched was Nascar. But not anymore. Since my hubby finally agreed on a college team, and all, we have started watching football games. I keep up to date on my high school team each Friday night, along with the team that will one day be my daughter's high school - my old high school's rivalry. LOL

Then today, we watched the Auburn football game, and flipped to check out the Alabama game here and there. Glad both teams won. Auburn has a young team and a lot of work a head.

So if you don't see posts from me much on the weekends - this is why - football and Nascar.

Let's play some games - that's what day 5 is about.

The day exercise is to choose an activity that you've never done together before. Enjoy.

We took a break from everything, and took lunch down by the river. We had a nice view, were able to just talk and enjoy being together...

The night exercise required you to have a deck of cards, blank index cards and 2 pens. Split the index cards between you. Then each of you split your index cards in half. On one half write your most sensitive body parts and hot spots. On other half, write a method of touchs that make you weak. When done put the body parts all in one pile and the touch cards in another.

Then start playing some poker. The winner of each hands gets to pick a body card and a touch card - and the loser has to do what they say.

Some of the card combos will be silly - like a toe rub; and other enjoyable - like neck kisses. But go with it. And just have fun.

Outside the Comfort Zone

Exercise for the day was to think back to the beginning of your relationship, what are some things you do now in front of your partner that you didn't do back then? And think about how you can still be comfortable doing things in front of your partner but keep some mystery.

I've been comfortable with D from almost the beginning. Of course, back then there was no way, I would have used the bathroom while he was in the shower or even with the bathroom door open. So that is one thing that has changed. And another talking about my body and how it's feeling.

I'm sure just about every couple can think of ways they have gotten comfortable with each other - maybe too comfortable. So how can you stay comfortable and bring back some of the mystery?

The night exercise is to get you comfortable in your own skin. Not everyone likes to been seen nude, because of one part of their body or another.... But not all show that dislike. I know women seems to have more of a hang up here then men.

They suggest you send the kids to a sleepover, so no way of been caught. Then turn down the lights, strip down, and go about your normal busy. Set on the couch with your partner, and watch a movie, and just enjoy yourself.

I'm not wild about my body, since having my daughter. But D doesn't seem to mind. LOL We decided this was the night to try the K-Y Yours & Mine Kissable sensations. Day 3 daytime exercise is to make a list of what turned you on about your partner and for them to do the same, when you first met. And also a list of negative attributes.

This was easy, hard, and scary. We did this and talked over the lists. And we both saw ways we can change our negatives into positives. :)

The night exercise was to discover the excitement of just meeting and getting to know each other. They suggest going out - seperately - to a place and create false identity and be picked up by your partner. This was hard for us, because it's nothing like how we met. It's something we tried in the past, and didn't enjoy it. We tried it again, and it was still hard for us.

It's Not Just About Sex

Day 2 is about connecting in other ways beside sex..... This was an easy day for us. I'll explain.
The daytime exercise is about tracking how often you and your partner interact in positive ways. this exercise was extra easy for us, because D and I have always made sure we love on each other - in hugs, kisses, holding hands, etc.... That is one thing that hasn't changed in our 14 yrs together.
Once we had our daughter, we also wanted her to know her parents love each other and her. One of the first things that C learned was the sign language for "I love you", that's our family symbol. We feels it's important not just for ourselves but for C to know we love each other and to see it.
The other part of the daytime exercise is to increase oxytocin, the "cuddling" hormone. Which is easy as hugging each other atleast 3 times a day for atleast 30 seconds at a time.
The nighttime exercise was to get closer both physically and emotionally. To get close, to stay in the moment, and enjoy. So that's what we did.

Well, we started on Day 1 exercises yesterday, but the exercises took longer then one day. ;)

The daytime exercise is to clean your bedroom, get rid of clutter, spice it up - make it your love nest.

This was a hard one because my bedroom was a mess - took longer to clean it then one day, as I stated above. But once I did get it clean, I did feel like a load was lifted. I got out my candles, and got the bedroom to smelling yummy.

The night exercise was to enjoy your love nest. And to awaken your senses. We really enjoyed this exercise {blush}. There are some questions to look at and journal about.
We talked about them but we haven't put them in the journal.

a few weeks ago, I won a giveaway over on McCrenshaw's blog. The giveaway was for a KY Intimacy Prize Pack....along with winning the prize pack, I was asked if I would be willing to post on my blog about the the K-Y Intimacy Experiment and do a giveaway also.

I thought about it and said sure.... (I hope). LOL So...my prize pack arrived...and D and I looked through the prize pack, and I read over the Intimacy Expermiment..and we talked about it.

There are 10 days of exercises - 2 a day - to help bring back the intimacy in your relationship. D and I have been married for 13 yrs. And we have a child. So getting to have some time just to ourselves is sometimes hard. I remember the time, when it didn't take anything to fall into bed. Then we had a child and I was tried....at the end of the day. D was working weird hours. so we didn't have time like we used too have. Things are better in his work hours now. But my body has gone through changes, and I'm not always ready to drop everything and fall into bed. But we have been trying to work more "us" time in. We still have to worry about C coming in and catching us... that's another problem.

So I'm hoping this experiment will help us, become closer in more then one way. ;)

the first week of school sent with no problems. she had a nice week. this week will be the test b/c they will be trading classes and start with homework. LOL

We have GS registration event this week, hoping to add a few girls to our troop. We will see....our first meeting is next week.

School starts Monday

Well, it's hard to believe but our summer is able over. C starts 5th grade on Monday. We went last night for open house and to meet the teacher.
She is at a new school this year. At this school, the 3 k thru 4th grade school all combine. So lots of new students. Hopefully, new friends.

Has school started for ya'll yet? if not, when does it start?

Back to School Shopping

Inspired by The "Q" Tipping Mom post, I wanted to share what we got when we took C shopping in H'ville last week and I thought I share what I got.
the pink/black/white button up shirt is from Burke's clearance that I got for $3.27.
The 2 pair of jeans, 2 pair of capris, and 1 black dress legging pants came from Ross's $52.87.
The monkey shirt was $3.88.
And all the other 4 shirts were from Dillard's $38.12.
Forgot to get the sketchers she got at the Shoe Dept Encore for $32.39
Total for $130.53

Now, I did get 2 pair of shorts and a tshirt at JCPenny for around $32.
New total: $162.53
also, that I don't have pictured. And of course, I hit up the local consignment shops/yard sales and got a few more things.
But I think we did pretty good.

Fried Pies

Ok, I promise this is my last post today. LOL

Forgot this in the last post.

Which at mom's, she taught C to make fried pies. So C has been promising her daddy since then she would make him some. well, we finally did yesterday. We made fried apple pies, then a couple that had grape jelly in them. well, C loved the grape ones. So we had to make some more grape ones this morning, which C and D ate all of. LOL

EDITED TO ADD:
I was asked how we made them.... for this batch we used can biscuits, rolled out on a flour tray to make alittle bigger. Then we used apple pie filling... and folded the biscuit cover it and sealed it. Then fried in the deep fryer.

4th of July, we spend on the river side with some friend's celebrating a birthday and then watched a fireworks show.

C and I had to change our plans for our trip to mom's because I ended up having some GS training at the end of July. But it worked out for us because mom was off work the whole time we were there.

After coming home, we had our GS trip to Sci-Quest that I posted about earlier. Then C took swim lessons. She did great. Still needs some practice, but I feel better about her being in water now.

And now it's the end of July. And we go back to school, in just a few weeks. C is going to a new school (just 5th and 6th grade) with students from 2 other schools and her old schools. She is a little nervous about that and all the new way things are done at it.

And I'm also trying to get ready for the new GS year.... Girl Scouts will be celebrating their 100th anniversary this year. So lots of exciting things going on.

Sci-Quest and Girl Scouts

Earlier in the month, the GS troop went to Sci-Quest , a local Hands-on Science Center. They had a blast.
We checked out all of the center as you can see in the pictures of C below. And the girls also did a Jitterbug program, where they built a little Jitterbug robot. This wasn't the first time the troop has been to Sci-Quest, but they still loved it.

I can't believe it's been a month. I've been so busy. First, post today is going to be able my painting, I started and shared the beginning of in the last post. It looks really good with my new curtains.

Girl Scouts

Last week, we took the GS troop camping. No not in tents. We stayed in a camper. The girls had a blast.

We worked on a few badges - art to wear; toymaker/puppet, dolls, & plays; outdoor adventurers/camp together.

The girls did sharpie tie dye on bandanas. They made knot and bead bracelets and traded them. I showed them how to do a square knot. We made worry dolls and sock puppets. And so much more.

Our next trip for we have a trip planned to the Science Museum. We are going to play around at the museum then we have a program to take part in. The girls are looking forward to that. So am I.

So I've decided I've got to lose some weight. So I've been walking every day since summer break started (other then last weekend and last night). Well, we are having problems with the van and truck. So I didn't get to walk last night. so I pulled out my Wii Active and used it.

I forgot how much it can work you and how fast. My legs are hurting now. LOL And I'm hot.

If I can get away with it, I will do it again today. but will just have to see.

C has been at VBS all week, and tonight they are having parent night. So I'm not sure if I'll be able to or not.

Anyone else exercising?

I'm so happy this morning when I saw Skip to my Lou's Craft Camp is back.

I enjoyed all the fun stuff last year.... so I'm glad she has it again this year. No telling what fun C and I will have this summer. Last year, we made a cootie catcher/fortune teller and the homemade bubble blower (this I think we may do again on Friday while my nieces are here).

And recently with my GS troop, we did the paper kites. The girls loved them.

I still want to do the Glue Batik. Maybe this summer.

Trip to LIbrary

Well, today we went to the library. So glad C loves to read. And we got some info on the summer reading program they do. Sign up is next week.

I picked up 2 more books for me. Enjoying having some time to read and really wanting to read. KWIM?

that's about all the fun we have had today. Hoping to go walk again this evening, maybe leaving C at home with her daddy so I can walk longer.

Tomorrow, we have a pool date at some friends. And Friday, my nieces will be here to play.

Summer is here

let's start the summer off right.

I received a new slushie/sno cone maker for mother's day. But the cost of the flavoring can get up there. So I wanted to find a recipe I could do on my own. And I did.

We also have this kit: Sid's the Science Kid - How do plants grow?

We soaked the seeds last night. So today, we started with the first project - do seeds need soil to grow?

1. one in soil
2. one in wet paper towel
3. one in just water

So now to see how they sprout.

The kit is for ages 3 and up. well, C is older, but loves to do the seeds and all each year. I think she likes this kit too. She has watched the Sid's Science Kid show, so she knows the characters. the kit is easy to use. Comes with a little journal book that tells you what to do and leaves room for you to write what you learn.

I had a hard time putting the book down. But that's a good thing, right? LOL

This was my first book by Ted Dekker, but it won't be my last. Not only did this book make me think but it kept me interested. And not many books, can do both.

so if you have a chance to check out this book, go for it. It will change the way you think about true love. And what it takes to find it.

Ramona And Beezus movie

If you haven't seen this movie with your child... it's a must see. DD and I went today to see it. We both loved it. It's so good. And it makes me want to read the children's books it's based on by Beverly Cleary.

My DD laughed so much during the movie. I've never read the books, so I'm not sure how close to the book the movie is. But it is a good family movie - which you can't always say about movies nowadays.

I could see us watching it again, with no problem. It's just that kind of movie. I love the little girl that plays Ramona (Joey King). There are times in the movie, she looks so like Beezus (Selena Gomez). The movie does have alittle drama - lost of a job, a pet, and the chance of having to move to take a job. But I think more laughs, then anything. DD was surprised when I knew some of the music in the movie. LOL

So if you haven't seen it with your kids, go see it. I think even the boys will enjoy it.

with the van having been messed up, our summer hasn't been what we planned.
we go back to school Aug. 11. so still have a little time but trying to get everything in.

Haven't been to see my mom this summer yet. Maybe soon.

But we have started picking up school supplies.... luckily, I had most of it already here at the house from shopping last year. Just need to buy a few things. Still need to do clothes. But the way C is growing, don't want to buy too early bc they may not fix when it's time to wear them.

I have had a recipe for homemade slushies in my favorites for a while. They were posted over on MomAdvice.

So I decided today was a good day to try the recipe. YUMMY is all we can say.

And one of the local grocery stores has Kool Aid for 10/$1, so it was a perfect time to try this recipe. maybe have to go back to the store and get a few more flavors.

"I'm Bored!" cootie catcher

Last week over at Skip to My Lou, I*S*L*Y shared a Paper Fortune Teller, and it got me thinking about letting dd make one to use when she is bored.

So I did a search for cootie catcher, b/c I didn't want to print on, I wanted her to add the activities herself.

I came across this site - Cootie Catchers

We followed those directions to get it folded. Then dd colored the outside, we numbered the inside, then she told me what she wanted the activities to be.

She has already put it to use.

Homemade slushies

over at Ramblings of a Crazy Woman, she posted homemade slushies recently. so today DD was hot and bored, so I let her make it herself. the only thing we changed, i wrapped the bags in a towel as we shook the bags. it helped alot.

Football Pudding

need a fun thing for the kids to make that they can eat?
Try Football Pudding. We did this at the last GS meeting and the girls really enjoyed it.

here's the recipe:
Football Pudding

2 packs of (6 serving)Jello instant pudding
3 cups of milk
3 cups of cool whip
2 heavy gallon size ziplock bags
12 Ice cream cones

Pour all the ingredients in the bag and make sure it is ziped up, then turn upside down in second bag and zip up. The girls throw the bag around the circle, make sure everyone gets a turn and as it is thrown around it mixes up. When it is all mixed remove from second bag and cut a hole in the corner of the bag and pipe the pudding in the ice cream cones.

the motor is locked up in the van. will be monday before we can even get the ball rolling on getting it fixed. have an est of what it will cost, and I'm not happy about that.

Planning C's bday party

ok, it's the time again to start planning C's bday party. this will probably be the last big planned out party. she is getting too old for it all. LOL She will be 9 on April 30.

so this year, is a mad scientist party. I've been looking for ideas all over. and I thought I would share some of the sites I found that are being a lot of help on getting this party together.

First, there is Se7en - she has some great science posts and even a party posted. so I'm going to use a few of her suggestions.

and every year, I check out the Kids birthday party guide. you can search for all types of parties there.

I got some experiment ideas from Science Bob site and Steven Spangler Science site.

I purchased some items on clearance at Halloween for this party - eye ball glasses - we are taking the eye balls out so the kids all have scientist glasses to wear; beakers that were full of candy - I'm going to fill with colored liquids to use as decorations; caution tape; eye ball balls; and I'm not sure what else. LOL

if anyone has any other suggestions or ideas for me, please share them.

Long time no see

sorry about that. just been so busy.
It's April. what's going on this month.... lots

first, this weekend is my anniversary. we have been married 12 yrs this weekend. It's also Easter weekend. it's also the first weekend of the month, which is always busy for us.

Next weekend, we are going to a Tom Sawyer event at Cathedral Caverns with the GS troop. The week after that, is Spring fair here in town. and the GS SU is having a booth about GS. so I'm sure I'll be there atleast once that week. Oh forgot, next week, I have a PTO and a SU meeting. Along with a GS meeting. LOL
We will be having our Sweetheart dance (Father/Daughter dance for girl scouts) on the 16th. On the 24th my GS troop has a Shape Up event to attend. And C's bday is April 3oth. My little girl will be 9. how did that happen. so I've also got to get ready for her bday party. LOL

And some where in there, I know the school's spring fundraiser will take place. so it's a busy month.

May will be busy also with school finishing up and all.

But I'm going to try and start posting more. wish me luck.

Once a month (first Sat of the month) Home Depot has a kids workshop. Each month the kids can go in and build something. This month was one of those block calendars. here is D and C building C's. now to get it painted and all.

I've been meaning to tell ya'll about a new CD I got. Recently, I got a copy of Harry Connick, Jr.'s new CD, thanks to One2One.

Girl Scouts

Last year, my dd (at the time a 2nd grader) decided she wanted to be a Girl Scout. well, at the parent meeting we find out that there is no leader for the girls. So I offer to help as long as some of the other moms agree to help. Well, they did but then never showed up. I did finally get a co-leader and we only had 4 girls who would show up.
Well, that co-leader and 2 of the girls decided to not continue this year. So I have a new co-leader and at the moment I have 7 Brownie level girls.
Well, now I've been asked to take on some Daisy girls b/c again there is no leader. so my co-leader and I are thinking about it. Trying to decide how we would do two different level groups. anyone have any insight on this? I know that next year I was going to have Brownies and Juniors and I've already been looking up ideas for that, and I've seen some of the try-its and badges would work together. But I'm not sure about the Daisy group. I've never done Daisy. don't know much about Daisies. I keep getting told it's easy. But how do I make it work out with the Brownie girls?????

Mommy Cards

how many of you have Mommy cards? what's a mommy card? well, it's a business cards for mom's. It has your info and your child's name to make the connection. They are great for passing out to coaches, teachers, new friend's parents, play groups, etc.....

I recented won some cards by BizCard. I got them the other day, and I'm so happy with them. They are a nice weight card. The color design is nice on them.

I was able to put my name, my dd's name, my address, phone number and email addy. I also added that I was a girl scout leader.

How many of you have seen The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch or have read the book?

I've seen The Last Lecture last year. But I really wanted to read the book. Well, I did this week. And I can say it really opens your eyes and can make you rethink things. It's a great book.

If you have seen The Last Lecture, just click on the link and watch it. I made it through the movie of it without many tears but the book was another story. I had tears from the beginning until the end. It's a very moving movie/book. And if you have a chance to watch it or read the book, please do so.

School starts tomorrow

well, it's finally that time. School starts tomorrow. We had open house on this past Thursday. Got to meet her teacher, see who all was in her glass. She has a ton of friends in her class, including her best friends. so that is nice.

We are also having book fair this week at school.... and I was asked to help for that. So I'm going to be at school most of the week. Plus I'm subbing half a day Thursday.

So for the next two weeks, I'm busy. But that isn't anything new lately. LOL

We got all her supplies a few weeks ago. This weekend was our tax free weekend, so we got a few more clothing items she wanted or needed. So she is set with several new outfits. The only thing I didn't do was buy her an iCarly book bag, b/c she just got a new book bag. And I want her a new lunchbox, but I can't find one like I want her to have locally, so I guess I'll have to order her one off line.

So how are we going to spend our last day of summer vacation? well, i think we are going to the flea market, I also believe we are going to put up the last wall in her playhouse. So then I just have to get some paint. And pretty much just hang out together. :)

Shave Cream + paint = fun

Shave cream + paint = cool paper.

DD and I played around today with Shave cream and paint. got some cool background paper now for some cards. will try and get them made this weekend.

we used a foil pan, paint, shave cream, straw, and cardstock

Put the shave cream in the pan. then add some drops of paint. take the straw and swirl the paint around.
Place a piece of the cardstock down on it. barely pushing it into the shave cream. Then pull it out.
Then wipe the shave cream off from one end to the other. And this is what you get.
can't wait to see what cards she makes.

Sock Puppet

a few weeks back, at the library reading program, they had a lady that came and made sock puppets with the kids. well, we didn't get to make one. and dd has been wanting to make one for a while. so we did.
supplies: a sock, some yarn for hair, 2 pom poms for eyes , and a piece of red felt for the tongue, and some glue.

fold in the toe part of the sock to create the mouth. glue in the tongue.
Figure out where you want the hair and eyes. then glue them on.

let it all dry for a bit and you have your sock puppet. I did go in later and add a piece of cardboard in the mouth to make it easier for her to open it. and give it alittle shape. all I did was follow the cardboard, then cut out a U shape, so that when you open it you have a long oblong shape for the mouth. then slide it in the sock.

Slime..............

I was looking around online over the weekend. And I was checking out the Idea Room, and came across her post on Glow in the dark slime.

So that me looking at different slime recipes and videos. I came across this one on YouTube that I liked.

So we gave it a try today. I cut the recipe in half and that made plenty.
Here is dd working on getting it all ready:

the first picture is mixing up the glue mixture with the food coloring. The second is the borax mixture.

we have right at a month before we go back to school. we got the supply list last month, so I've been picking up supplies as I find them on sale.

now we have to wait until the end of the month to find out who dd's teacher will be. I was hoping we could already know. but no luck.

I hope everyone else had a nice 4th of July too. we had a nice weekend all together.
Now back to the busy world. Right now, dd is still asleep. I need to get her up, but I don't wan too. LOL
we have a GS meeting tomorrow, so we have to do some cleaning/picking up. Meeting is suppose to be outside. We are going to do an Art to Wear Try-it day here. I've got shirts for them to tie dye, visors to decorate, stuff to make bracelets, stuff to make a mask like thing, dome rings to paint, and I'm not sure what else. LOL

and this is my last week, doing the Select Media job at HD. I wish it wasn't, but taking another pay cut, just didn't work. But this week, they have me doing a map set up, if the store will let me. LOL
So I'm going to have to go by there during the day to take to the temp. manager to see.

Mom had tried to show me how to crochet for forever. and I never got it. Well, last week while visiting her, she tried to show dd b/c she wanted to learn. Well, it finally clicked with me. and this is what I did today. it's a pot holder. LOL

Fun for dd

well, a couple of weeks ago Mama's Money Savers offered a giveaway of a travel easel. DD loves to have things to do on trips, and she loves to draw and color. so I entered. And I won.

We got the easel on Friday, but I wouldn't let dd have it right away b/c we will be traveling next Sunday so I want her to wait until then. She can't wait.

this little easel is great. You have a chalk board, a white board, and clips to hold paper to use as a lapdesk. It came with pencils, markers, pastels, chalk, dry erase marker, sponge eraser, and a drawing pad. And it all fits together. I love that.

Build-A-Bear

Well, the Brownies went to Build-A-Bear today. They loved it. There were only 4 of them. but it was a blast. Mine had done Wacky Bear and another girl had done Build-A-Bear in the past, but for the others it was all new.

We had 4 happy little Brownies with their Girl Scout plushies, since they had to buy the girl scout vest, sash and skort for their pets.

This is a nice little treat for kids. DD hasn't stopped playing with hers since we got it.

We came home with Mattox, and cute little puppy. DD is playing on the Build-A-Bear virtual site with Mattox right now.
